As an open-format DJ, Toronto-based Yedina is nothing short of a genre chameleon who weaves through hip-hop, R&B, house, funk, afrobeats, reggaeton, dancehall, and soca with ease. Her innate sense of curiosity and willingness to experiment is infectious, and allows her to bring patrons along for the ride.

Yedina’s upbringing in Canada’s most multicultural city, combined with extensive international travel and eight years spent living in the US and Bermuda, ensures her song selections are brimming with diversity.

Yedina honed her skills under the tutelage of one of Bermuda’s best DJs, Rusty G. His Fresh Ears DJ School proved to be the ultimate training ground as Yedina learned not only the foundational skills of mixing but also the ins and outs of curating the perfect atmosphere.

From the very beginning to the end of her set, movement is at the forefront of Yedina’s mind. Every track she plays is intended to elicit a visceral response that can only be communicated through dancing. Whether it be a two-step or a slow wine, the main objective is to move.

As a female DJ in a male-dominated field, Yedina places a heavy emphasis on supporting women in music. At any given event, a large portion of her set is comprised of female artists. Never one to stick to the status quo, Yedina is in the business of leaving lasting impressions.
