Kyara Andrade-Howell aka DJ TROY Frost, is a daughter of Dorchester and Roxbury, raised in a family anchored by music. She is an artist whose sets reflect a lifelong love of music. Her musical foundation spans 70s soul, Golden Era Hip Hop, Zouk, R&B, and House, which shape her style today. In 2013, while studying at Barnard College, she trained at Scratch DJ Academy, earning her DJ certification alongside a B.A. in Africana Studies.

She has shared stages with notable artists including GZA, Talib Kweli, Just Blaze, Staceyann Chin and Skyzoo. Highlights include DJing for Janelle Monáe at Wellesley College, and serving as the resident DJ for the Boston Comics in Color Festival.

Her latest project, A TROY Story, uses the Hip Hop elements to tell personal stories of inner child work, and self-discovery. It reflects her belief that Hip Hop is a tool for wellness and transformation.
